The core modules are compulsory for all students intending to complete the MSc. In addition to completing the four core modules, students should complete two optional modules (referred to later as your “options”) and an MSc project.

You are normally expected to complete the core modules before progressing with the optional modules. The Degree Regulations require that you must pass the Core element by achieving an average of 50% before proceeding to the project.

The academic session for all modules runs from September to April and all modules are assessed by unseen written examinations in May.

During your earlier phases of education and in your working life you will have acquired your own specific styles and methods of studying. Distance learning format provides a high degree of flexibility as to how you organise your study, and it is up to you to make the decision how most effectively to progress through the programme.
