Unit Zero – Sample Unit |
|
Introduction Using the Quizzes for self assessment |
|
| We have seen that the learning materials for each module delivered by
the VLE (or offline on the CD) comprise of collections of units. These units
may be normal units that are mostly text based with some interaction, using
Flash. Or they may be audio units designed around a live presentation on
campus and enabling you to browse the slides of a presentation listening
to the audio commentaries.
Most units of both kinds have a short quiz associated with them, implemented separately. The purpose of a quiz is to allow you to assess how much of the unit you have understood. A quiz normally consists of up to ten multiple-choice questions concerning issues raised by the unit. The quiz questions are just a tiny sample of some of the issues that you should have understood from your study of the unit and are not an attempt to cover all of the main points. After you have selected your answers you will receive automated feedback on whether your answer was correct. This feedback includes a short discussion of the various options that you were asked to select between. |
