Welcome to the SCR

With a wide range of snacks and hot and cold drinks are available throughout the day, the SCR is an ideal place for College staff and postgraduate research students to hold an informal meeting or have a quiet chat with a colleague.

The SCR is exclusively for College staff and their guests, as well as postgraduate research students.  Taught postgraduate students, undergraduates and other visitors to the College are not permitted to use the SCR unless as a guest of a member of staff.

Booking a table

Whilst the SCR is an informal place to dine, for your convenience tables may be booked in advance for lunch.  Though please note that 50% of tables will always remain unallocated to ensure all visitors to the SCR can be seated.  To book a table, please call the SCR direct on internal extension 3050.

Booking a private room for lunch

The Bedford Room can be booked for private use during the lunchtime period.  A minimum number of 12 guests, choosing from the daily lunch menu, are required to guarantee exclusivity.

Table service can be provided at an additional cost of £3.50 per guest.  Please request this at least five working days prior to the date of the function.

SCR Diners Club

All those entitled to use the SCR may become a member of the SCR Diners’ Club which entitles members to a free hot main meal with every 10 purchased.
