Dr Amrit Wilson is a writer and political activist and has published extensively on various aspects of British and Black Politics with particular reference to gender and race. She wrote ‘Finding a Voice- Asian Women in Britain’ which is regarded as a seminal text. Her other research interests include the construction of South Asian masculinity and the role of multi-ethnic/faith policies in the promotion of religious and quasi-religious identities. Her most recent book is ‘Dreams, Questions, Struggles - South Asian Women in Britain’, Pluto Press (2006).
