E-mail systems
Our Exchange server infrastructure requires daily maintenance in order to maximise stability. The window of downtime is every morning from 04:00 to 06:00 to allow for automated server reboots. Each server will typically be unavailable for 10-20 minutes during that time.
Network Maintenance
Ukerna (who provide the College’s connection to the Internet [JANet]) have an agreed network “at risk period” every Tuesday morning from 07:00 to 09:00. The Network Team will, wherever possible, carry out any local networking maintenance during this time.
Administrative Computing
Corporate systems must be considered “at risk” each Wednesday from 17.00 and 18.00.
Other systems maintenance
Where possible, other planned maintenance will occur outside of the normal hours indicated above (i.e. Monday-Friday 08:00-18:00), however, the Computer Centre would
like to reserve the right to occasionally take down systems each Wednesday from 17:00- 18:00. At least 7 days notice will be provided in each case.
