  • the conceptual foundations of accounting;
  • accounting in different cultures, particularly Islamic accounting;
  • the recognition and measurement of complex dynamic liabilities;
  • theories and methods in historical accounting research;
  • the changing stereotype of the professional accountant;
  • policing the legitimacy of professional accounting.
