The Media Arts Department offers MA Programmes in Documentary by Practice, Feature Film Screenwriting (which is SKILLSET Accredited), Screenwriting for TV & Film (taught through residential courses and distant learning across two years) and Producing Film & Television and supervised research leading to the degree of PhD to a thriving international postgraduate community. There are currently 70 MA and nearly 30 research students undertaking postgraduate study in the Department. Our postgraduate students benefit from state-of-the-art facilities, including a TV and sound studio, digital editing suites, dedicated and shared work spaces. The Founders Library holds an extensive collection of academic journals, electronic databases and books on Film and Television Studies, as well as a large loan collection of DVDs and videos. The University of London Central Library at Senate House and the library and archives of the British Film Institute are within easy reach, providing invaluable resources for any researcher.
Our postgraduate and research students play a vital part of our research culture. They are invited to attend and contribute to a regular series of Research Seminars organised by the Department and the Humanities and Arts Research Centre. Postgraduate and research students are also members of the College’s Graduate School and thus benefit from an interdisciplinary research environment and the guidance, resources and support centrally provided by the College.

The first exposition of audio-visual practice-led doctorates will take place at the University of Westminster's P3 Gallery from Monday 8th-Sunday 15th December.
