PhD Teaching Studentship in Hispanic Studies

The School of Modern languages, Literatures and Cultures at Royal Holloway, University of London, invites applications for a three-year PhD Teaching Studentship in Hispanic Studies, available to UK/EU students first registering to undertake doctoral study in September 2010.

The studentship includes full tuition fees of £3,390 plus a £10,000 bursary each year for a maximum of three years of full-time doctoral study and subject to evidence of satisfactory progress. It is open to applicants working in any area of Spanish or Latin American literature and culture.

Applicants should have native or near native competence in Spanish and English language and hold an MA with at least a Merit (or international equivalent) in an appropriate area of Hispanic Studies.

The successful applicant will be expected to undertake an average of 6 hours of undergraduate teaching and marking/examining and/or research support for the School each week during term.

You should include a current CV, a letter of application outlining in as much detail as possible your research proposal, and a sample of your previous academic work (approximately 5,000 words).
