The National Particle Physics Masterclass

Sixth formers and their teachers spend a day experiencing the excitement of particle physics at one of a series of Masterclasses held at various universities throughout the country. The day-long classes are a mixture of talks and practical sessions.

They learn about Quarks, Leptons, Antimatter, the Big Bang, CERN, SLAC etc from particle physicists experienced in explaining their research to sixth form students.

More information on the 2010 Masterclass, including dates, will appear here during December 2009.

Overwhelmed students Honoured Students Enthused Students
"My students were overwhelmed by the event and felt it was an absolute honour to listen to and meet leaders in this field. They came back to school enthused by the hands-on experience of the practical activities.
