The study of politics and international relations is concerned with the fundamental challenges linked to such change. Our degrees provide the means of making sense of a range of important issues and of training people to use skills in a variety of work settings.

Staff in the Department are researching a wide range of subjects and teaching is  informed by the very latest information and research findings. The Department focuses on political life at the global, the national and the local levels.

The different approaches complement and enrich one another, and this is reflected in the way in which our degree programmes are designed and taught. Despite approaching our centenary, we are also a 'young' Department.
