Masters (3+1) Scholarships: £3,390 (current value in 2009/10) for Masters Degree study after undergraduate study at Royal Holloway.

Who is eligible?

Masters (3+1) Scholarships are designed to enable students to undertake postgraduate study after their undergraduate course at Royal Holloway.

Masters (3+1) Scholarships for study on a taught Masters Degree will be available as a competitive award to students who are in receipt of a Standard Bursary in their final year of undergraduate study at the College.

Masters (3+1) Scholarships will be offered subject to the following conditions: satisfactory progress as an undergraduate; the achievement of a 2:1 degree or above from Royal Holloway; and gaining an offer of admission to a taught Masters degree programme at Royal Holloway for the academic year immediately after their undergraduate degree, or the following year.
How much? The value of the scholarship will be equivalent to the standard postgraduate tuition fee for full-time Home and EU students. In 2010-11 this will be £3,480.
How is it paid? Fee related support paid directly against the standard tuition fee rate.
How many?

Up to 50.

How do I apply?

Students must complete an application form to be considered for the award. The application form can be downloaded from here and should be returned by post.

There are two deadlines for receipt of applications - 31 March 2010 and 4 June 2010. It is recommended that applications are submitted by the 31 March 2010 deadline. However, applications received up to the 4 June 2010 deadline will be considered.

Selection for the Master’s (3+1) Scholarship will be made by the College’s Scholarship Panel.

Decisions of the Scholarship Panel are final and no correspondence will be entered into with any candidate regarding the decision of the panel.
Notes

Masters (3+1) Scholarships are not open to students on 4 year MSci degree programmes.

A Masters (3+1) Scholarship may not be held in conjunction with another College scholarship, and recipients will not be eligible for the Alumni Bursary (available to alumni of the College who enrol for a postgraduate programme).
