How to apply

If you are a Study Abroad Student Click here to download the application form or order a hard copy on-line!

If you are an Exchange Student, you can obtain a copy of our application form from your home university. Please do not complete the Study Abroad form.

Making an Application

The following guidelines are supplied to help you to complete your application:

1. Please complete the application form carefully (including the accommodation application) and give all the relevant details.

2. If you download the form, you can email your application, or, if you prefer, you can send us a hard copy via fax or international mail.

3. Please refer to the online course unit catalogue when selecting the course units for which you would like to enrol. Do not select courses from the departmental website directly as some courses have restrictions.

4. In addition to the application form, you will need to include the following documents:

a. an authorised transcript of your university studies;

b. two academic references (in some cases your university may prefer to send these to us separately);

c. in the case of a non-native speaker of English, a photocopy of a current English language test certificate (such as TOEFL or IELTS)

5. The deadline for receipt of applications is 31 May for September starters (Study Options 1 & 2) and 31 October for January starters (Study Option 3). (Applications received after the deadlines will normally be considered, but we cannot guarantee availability of College housing and enrolment in particular course units).

Note that incomplete application materials may lead to substantial delays in our central administration and academic departments.

The Admissions Process

1. Upon receipt, your application will be processed centrally and sent to the relevant academic department(s) for their review.

2. Once you have been accepted on the Study Abroad Programme, you will receive from us a formal offer letter, detailing your Study Plan. If you wish to accept the offer made to you, you will be required to return an “offer reply form” which will be sent together with your offer letter, within the stipulated deadline.

3. For students commencing their studies in September, in July, you will be sent information about when to arrive, enrolment and orientation, the airport collection service, an accommodation contract (which you must sign and return), together with other practical information about Royal Holloway services. For students enrolling in January, this information will be sent to you in January.

you an information pack containing joining instructions, including how to pay the programme fees (if applicable), the orientation programme, the social programme (if eligible), airport pick-up service (if eligible), and other Royal Holloway services. This pack also contains your Enrolment Form, which you must complete and return to the College before your departure. Importantly, it will also include information about your accommodation arrangements, such as your accommodation contract, which you must sign and return to us.

With all this information to hand, you should have all you need in order to arrive at the College, register for your studies, and begin your classes!
