Summer School
The 2006 Summer School at Royal Holloway offers you the opportunity to spend part of the British summer at our beautiful residential campus in Egham, enjoying the cultural and historical sites of London and its surrounding area. Running for just over six weeks, from mid-June to the end of July, this draws on our home-based degree course syllabus, but also on our expertise in offering worldwide external degrees for the University of London (in fields such as our MBA programme, amongst others).
The 2006 Summer School will offer transferable credits to your home University from the Royal Holloway degree programme, led by distinguished faculty members, and covering a range of academic disciplines such as History, Management, European Studies and English. Students will be able to select their academic courses from those available at the time of application. Background information and study packs (reading lists and pre-course material) will be provided well in advance of departure to allow orientation and course reading before you leave.
Housing will be provided on Royal Holloway’s campus in Egham. Tuition will also be predominantly located on the main campus. In addition, teaching one day a week will take place at Royal Holloway’s central London Bedford Square campus (opposite the British Museum), followed by a supervised afternoon trip to important London attractions. This will be further supplemented by visits to cultural institutions of important student interest on three Saturdays, every other week. The 2006 Summer School’s cultural programme will cover such areas of historic interest as the British Museum, Westminster Abbey, the Tate Modern (Art Gallery), and Windsor Castle, to name but a few. The 2006 Summer School is open to both undergraduates (second year and above with at least a 3.0 GPA or equivalent) and graduate students. Applicants must give evidence of strong academic motivation and maturity, and will be considered on a continuing first-come, firstserved basis. Students are encouraged to apply early as enrolment is limited.
