IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS & INFORMATION
Special Examination Arrangements may be approved for students who are unable to sit formal exams under normal examination conditions as a result of a disability or other condition. Special Examination Arrangements (SEA’s) are designed to enable these students to demonstrate their knowledge and abilities in examinations without compromising academic standards. Where a disability is disclosed, we will take appropriate steps to ensure reasonable adjustments are provided.
There are three main types of students who may require alternative examination arrangements:-
If you are unsure of what needs you have please contact the Educational Support Office who will be happy to discuss this with you.

2. Complete the'Special Examination Arrangement Student Request Form 2010-11' following the instructions in the 'Information for students on Special Examination Arrangements' - both documents can be downloaded from the links below.

A variety of arrangements can be made including extra time. Please read ‘Information for Students regarding Special Examination Arrangements’ for further details.
Once you have applied for Special Arrangements and they have been approved by the College authorities you will be sent an email to your RHUL student email address by the Exams Special Arrangements Coordinator confirming your entitlement to Special Examination Arrangements. This will have a letter attached which will detail your examination allowances. Please check that the details are correct and print a copy for your records. If you believe an error has been made please contact the Exams Office as soon as possible. Remember to regularly check your student email as this is where any important information and updates will be sent.
The portal will only show the original durations of the exams to which any extra time that you have been granted will be added. You will be advised of your official finishing time by the exam supervisor shortly after the start of each examination taken.
Extra writing time is added pro rata per hour/part hour, e.g. for a 3 hour exam with 15 minutes per hour extra writing time, your exam will last 3 hours and 45 minutes.
To work out rest time please read the Rest Time Guidelines.
