Royal Holloway opens doors for annual garden party :
19/05/2008
Royal Holloway, University of London will host its annual garden party in its stunning grounds on Sunday 8 June from 1 to 5.30pm.
This community event draws families and crowds every year to the splendour of the prestigious Founder′s building and supports the Thames Hospicecare, Cystic Fibrosis and three charities, which are the focus of the Mayor of Runnymede’s appeal for 2008: Homestart Runnymede, Runnymede Care Assistant Scheme and Eyes Right. Last year’s event was a great success, with over £2,000 donated to the local charities.
Activities this year include over 50 art and craft stalls, magic shows, children′s rides, face painting and others. A barbecue and live music by the Brass Monkeys are also highlights of the day.
Visitors will be able to take tours around the campus. (Note that the Picture Gallery is closed for refurbishment.)
A grand raffle will take place with prizes generously donated by leading local organisations including Procter & Gamble and The Wentworth Club. Prizes include an overnight stay and dinner at The Runnymede Hotel and Spa, one year’s membership of Kew Gardens, theatre tickets, restaurant vouchers, a round of golf, an IPod, a Hi-Fi and many more…
