Public lecture at Guildford Museum

The lecture,The Falklands/Malvinas: Why do Argentina and Britain (and the Falkland Islanders) still Dispute Ownership? by Dr Klaus Dodds, will take place at the Guildford Museum, on Wednesday 10 November at 7.30pm.

Dr Klaus Dodds, Dean of the Graduate School and Reader in Political Geography at Royal Holloway, University of London will explore why Britain, the Falkland Islanders and Argentina continue to quarrel over the islands.

Dr Dodds is author of numerous publications, including 'Licensed to Stereotype: Popular Geopolitics, James Bond and the Spectre of Balkanism' (2003) and Pink Ice: Britain and the South Atlantic Empire (2002) He also lectures to undergraduates on Geopolitics and Political and Economic Geography at the College.

The Guildford Museum Lecture Series, started in 1994, aims to encourage public interest in archaeology, history and the fine arts. For the fifth year running the lecturers come from Royal Holloway, University of London. All lectures take place in the Guildhall in Guildford High Street, and start at 7.30 p.m. Booking essential on 01483 444752.
