The Royal Holloway branch of the Association of University Administrators was successfully re-launched on Thursday 16 October 2008 with a very encouraging turnout in the newly refurbished Picture Gallery. We were fortunate to have the support of Sir Peter Scott (AUA President), Maureen Skinner (AUA Chair) and Terry Bransbury (AUA London region Co-ordinator) who all attended the event.
AUA members are drawn from all areas of University administration - from central administration and departments. Anyone interested in developing their career in professional university administration, at whatever stage they have currently reached in their career, is welcome to join. We believe AUA offers an excellent opportunity for both those new to the higher education sector, and others who are more familiar with its context and values.
This website provides information about the AUA, locally and nationally. Members also receive regular direct mailings from the AUA central offices based at the University of Manchester. We hope that you will find the website informative and easy to navigate. Any comments and suggestions for improvements and items to include are welcome; please contact AUA@rhul.ac.uk.
Your Royal Holloway Branch Co-ordinator is Jennie Clark, Assistant Faculty Manager (Science) j.clark@rhul.ac.uk. From 26 March 2010 your Royal Holloway Branch Co-ordinator will be Andrea Hodgetts, Senior Faculty Administrator (Physics) andrea.hodgetts@rhul.ac.uk.
I am delighted by the recent regeneration of the AUA branch at Royal Holloway and am happy to encourage and support the continued growth and activity of this professional body.
As you will see from this website, membership provides numerous benefits to staff at all levels and throughout your career including opportunities to broaden your knowledge of higher education and to further your career through professional development. The AUA represents a national and international network to share ideas and is an excellent way of expanding your contact base and raising your own profile in the sector.
