Dr Kimm Curran
Dr Kimm Curran is a graduate from the University of Idaho (USA) with a BA in History. She received her PhD from the University of Glasgow in 2006. Her revised thesis titled 'Religious Women and their Communities in Late Medieval Scotland' will be published by Four Courts Press (Dublin). It will include new chapters on the early middle ages, the impact of the Reformation on Scottish convents and the archaeology of and use of space in Scottish convents. Her various publications include themes of prosopography of religious women in Scotland, the role of prioresses in Scottish convents and elections of prioresses in Scottish convents. She is doing further research on the comparative approach of Augustinian convents in medieval Britain and book ownership; authority and identity of late medieval prioresses in Britain; and the identity of medieval English nuns. She is currently with the Faculty of Education at the University of Glasgow.
