Welcome to the Educational Support Office (ESO) website.


Royal Holloway, University of London warmly welcomes students with disabilities and is committed to providing professional quality services and support. The ESO is the central office which coordinates the support for students with additional learning needs at RHUL. It seeks to make a large and direct contribution to fostering an inclusive, tolerant and diverse environment in which students are given the opportunity to demonstrate their academic ability and to fulfil their potential.
To this end, the ESO:

  • offers advice and guidance for prospective and current students with special educational needs;

  • assesses the support requirements of prospective or current students who declare their disability and/or Specific Learning Difficulty;

  • coordinates a range of services to ensure that these students receive adequate support whilst studying at RHUL including support for students with dyslexia or other Specific Learning Difficulties

  • provides ongoing assistance to academic staff working with disabled students;

  • represents the interest of students with additional needs at policy level and advises the College on disability legislation

  • implements the part of the College Disability Equality Statement Action Plan relating to Students.
