The Friendly Hand Charitable Foundation will fund a PhD scholarship for three years, starting September 2011, for research relating to any aspect of the history of the Christian religion in modern Europe (post-1800). The scholarship will cover the cost of academic fees at Home/EU level; and also provides a stipend of £15,000 p.a. The scholarship holder will be supervised within the History Department at Royal Holloway according to the norms for doctoral supervision laid out in the relevant college and departmental regulations.
