Two academics from Royal Holloway, University of London will offer expert commentary to a new documentary series, Nazi Secrets, broadcast on the National Geographic Channel this summer.
Professor Peter Longerich, from the School of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures, and Professor David Cesarani, from the Department of History will both feature on the debut episode broadcast tomorrow (13 July).
The first episode, Himmler's SS Cult, will reveal how SS chief Heinrich Himmler battled sexual insecurity, had an obsession with witches and hid an illegitimate son.
The Nazi Secrets series explores the horrifying crimes which left an indelible stain on European history and examines the many questions that still remain about the Nazi party.
From SS terror-chief Heinrich Himmler’s secret obsession with witches, to the schizophrenic cousin Hitler gassed to death, this series reveals the sensational secrets providing viewers with a new understanding of Hitler’s regime.
This is the story told by those closest to the Fuhrer and his henchmen, who have finally dared to speak on camera.
Professor David Cesarani will feature in several episodes throughout the series.
