Books
Print and electronic
The books provided by the Library consist of both print and electronic copies.
Electronic
The Library provides access to e-books, either as individual titles, or as part of collections of e-books, such as Early English Books Online (EEBO). Access to individual titles is often provided for heavily used books on reading lists.
You can use the following ways to find and access e-books:
Print
The print books are currently divided between the two libraries on campus:
-
Bedford: science, social science and history;
-
Founder's: arts, literature and humanities and music
The print books are further divided into various collections: Short Loan, Main, Oversize etc. Each collection is shelved according to the Dewey decimal classification scheme.
You can use LibrarySearch| or the library catalogue| to search for print books. Note down the Dewey classmark (which will tell you where the book is located on the shelf) and check to see if the item is available. You can reserve the item if it is on loan.
