Finding books in Founder's Library

There is a guide to using classmarks| to locate books in the Library. The floorplans below show the 3 main areas in Founder's Library:

Founder's Library: Ground Floor West & Basement|
Founder's Library: 1st Floor East & West| 

Services available during core opening hours (Monday – Friday 8.30am to 7pm)

Library staff maintain and provide guidance for the following facilities:-

• Self service (issues, returns, renewals)
• Photocopying
• Printers
• Microfilm/fiche reader
• Group and individual viewing rooms and equipment

We also provide assistance in using the following resources and services:-

• Membership of the libraries
• Borrowing items from our collections
• Booking rooms for group study
• IT facilities, including basic assistance with log-on and printing problems
• Library catalogue, and assistance in locating materials within the libraries
• e-resources: assistance in using LibrarySearch and locating e-resources
• Inter Library Loans
• Depository material, issues and returns
• Rare books collection

We also seek to provide you with:-

• Silent and collaborative study areas

Services available outside of core hours

During evening and weekend opening there is a reduced level of service and enquires may be referred to core staff for investigation and responses. However, you can expect assistance with:

Services available while the Libraries are closed

• Return of library materials (drop-box available Bedford Library and Founder's Library)
• Access to the Library catalogue, e-resources, LibrarySearch and Music software Sibelius
• Online Depository requests
• Online Inter Library Loan requests
• Web based enquires via Library mail box: library@rhul.ac.uk.Enquiries can be made at any time, but responses will only be sent Mon-Fri 9-5pm.
