Our Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is primarily based around an in-depth study of a specific topic, which is guided by one or more staff members who are experts and active researchers in their fields, and experienced supervisors of research.
The School has over 56 research-active academic staff, from more than 10 countries, covering the main areas of management. Students work closely with established research teams, and play a full and active part in the School’s research and teaching activities.

Royal Holloway has a well-deserved reputation for excellence in both research and teaching. In the 2008 RAE 95% of the School's research was judged to be of an international standard, placing us 19th (out of 90 in the UK) in the overall Business and Management rankings.
