Our internationally renowned academics bring their extensive experience of industry and cutting-edge research into the lecture theatre, helping students gain a thorough understanding of their chosen discipline. Courses are designed to combine academic knowledge with practical insights into international business, which enhances the quality and experience of all teaching within the School.

Asia Pacific Business and Management (MA)|

This MA will enable you to improve your communication, teamworking, technical and research skills and to gain a solid understanding of management in the Asia Pacific. It is of particular relevance to students looking to work or conduct business within this region and those seeking a career within an Asia Pacific multinational.

Consumption, Culture and Marketing (MA)|

This newly launched MA in Consumption, Culture & Marketing is an interdisciplinary masters programme that draws together content and teaching from the subject areas of marketing and sociology. We seek to analyse marketing behaviour with a view to better understand how it functions as a determinative mode of production and mediation whose influence reaches well beyond spheres of consumer behaviour and marketing management and into politics, culture and the environment.

Marketing (MA)|

This is a distinctive, research-led course based on contemporary theory and case material which is challenging and innovative. Our academics have expertise in cutting edge consumer and culture industry research. The course will provide you with an in-depth and critical understanding of a world increasingly defined by a culture of consumerism and the role played by marketing activities in building strong customer relationships and business opportunities.

Business Information Systems (MSc)|

This BIS course a direct response to the increasing need for greater understanding of the role advanced technology plays in the workplace and at home. It also addresses the need in industry for executives to understand and appreciate the strategic value of such technology as a source of competitive advantage, both nationally and internationally.

Entrepreneurship (MSc)|

This dynamic course is designed to equip you with a specialist and in-depth understanding of entrepreneurship. The course draws upon the highest level of theory and practice in this field and builds on the extensive research and teaching expertise of academics within the School of Management. 

International Human Resource Management (MSc)

|

This course adopts an intellectually rigorous and critical approach to international human resource management strategies and practices, assessing them from a range of theoretical and analytical perspectives, explaining them in terms of their social and economic context, and considering their implications and impact for a range of stakeholders and interest groups.

International Accounting (MSc)| 

This course was created in response to the increasing recognition of the need to set the theory and practice of accounting in the context of its social, political, natural and cultural environments. The course incorporates reflection on the broader setting and implications of accounting in addition to knowledge and understanding of contemporary financial and management accounting.  

International Management (MSc)|

This course is designed for ambitious and self-motivated individuals at the outset of their professional working life. It includes all the major management functions and will enable you to build effective management skills, understand management within the global context and develop a wide international network of associates. 

Leadership and Management in Health (MSc/PGDip)|

This unique course is specifically designed to meet the needs of those already working, or intending to work, in the health and social care services in the public, private and voluntary sectors in both the UK and internationally. Its evidence base is drawn from the latest research and practice in health sector leadership and management, combined with the practical application of new knowledge and skills to work-based situations.

Project Management (MSc)|

This course is suitable for graduates from a range of backgrounds interested in a career which will involve managing projects, from fashion and film professionals to those in the charity sector and from scientists to government employees. It will equip you with the interdisciplinary project management skills which your future career path could depend on.

Sustainability and Management (MSc)|

The MSc Sustainability and Management is taught jointly by the School of Management, which has a long tradition of research into sustainable businesses, and the Department of Geography, which is recognised for expertise in the research and teaching of environmental and social sustainability.

Postgraduate students need to offer their employer highly advanced knowledge and skills which will illustrate they can be effective at senior level in business, industry or academia. Postgraduate study at the School of Management will provide you with the subject knowledge and expertise required to pursue a successful career. At the end of your programme you should be able to:

  • develop an awareness of current issues and engage with complex topics
  • take a critical and independent approach to your area of study
  • apply relevant knowledge and adapt your existing learning, research and organisational skills to a practical situation
  • use relevant research techniques to acquire and analyse data and examine research sources
  • develop skills in areas that will enhance your acquired knowledge and skills, including project management, teamwork, problem-solving, communication and presentations. enhance your communication, social and creative skills enabling you to present your research in an effective, interesting and professional manner.
