MMus in Advanced Musical Studies: Pathway in Composition

The recently redesigned postgraduate degree offers a cohesive pathway that allows students to develop creatively and technically. A range of courses in composition and contemporary music is available with specialisms in both acoustic and studio composition. We believe that being a composer today is about finding your individual voice, developing technical skills and a professional attitude, and finding the confidence to explore your own creativity.

Course overview

The new pathway is designed to advance your skills in composition and to develop your own personal creative musical language. The aim is to explore a wide range of technical developments and ideas in contemporary composition both in the fields of acoustic music and in the studio. The course will develop your intellectual and creative abilities to a professional level.
