Our research is world renowned with highly active groups in condensed matter, quantum devices, nanotechnology, particle physics, accelerator physics and theoretical physics. 90% of our research was ranked as international quality in the last Research Assessment Exercise, with 55% of our research ranked as internationally excellent or world leading. The measure of the entire department included a large number of outstanding young staff at an early stage of their research careers.
