Doerthe joined the Department in September 2011 as Lecturer in International Relations. She is currently in the process of finishing her PhD thesis at the Department of War Studies, King's College London, in which she has engaged with the various possibilities and forms of political resistance in global liberal regimes, with the example of the controversy around genetically modified organisms. Her research interests include international relations theory, particularly poststructuralist and other critical approaches, contemporary French political theory (Foucault, Deleuze, Ranciere), critical approaches to security, and environmental politics.
