Recent government policy has stopped institutions receiving
government funding for many students from the UK and EU (non-UK)
who already have a qualification at or above the level of
the one they wish to take. This policy is known as the ELQ
(equivalent or lower qualifications) policy.
From September 2009 most Home and EU undergraduate and postgraduate
taught students at Royal Holloway who are seeking to
achieve a qualification that is at the same level, or lower,
than one which they already hold will have to pay a higher
non-subsidized tuition fee:
Full-time study - Current
Home/EU fee + £8000
Part-time study - Current
Home/EU fee + £4000

charged at the current Home/EU rate without the additional
fee)

Students who qualify for the Disabled Students' Allowance
will also continue to receive funding regardless of the programme
they are studying. Disabled Students' Allowances provide extra
financial help if you have a disability or specific learning
difficulty like dyslexia. Please also note that the
policy does not apply to postgraduate research courses
(MRes, MPhil/PhD programmes), and that several taught
programmes are exempt: please see the list below.
