Making Space for Art: Jannet de Goede

Making Space for Art: Jannet de Goede and the Kröller-Müller Museum

  • Date26 Jul 2022
  • Reading time 1min

As part of the Making Space for Art series of talks at Royal Holloway, this talk is 'For the Benefit and Joy of the Community' by Jannet de Goede (Curator, Kröller-Müller Museum).

The Kröller-Müller Museum, situated in the largest nature park in the Netherlands, provides space for art in an exceptional setting. The building, its location, the collection and how the art is presented inside and outside the museum are inseparably linked with the ideas of the founder, Helene Kröller-Müller, and the directors who succeeded her after her death in 1939. The talk charts the history of the museum, the park and the collection to show how the works are given a unique space.

Introduced by Professor Eric Robertson (Dept of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, Royal Holloway).

This talk was delivered on 22 February 2017.
