Accommodation

The majority of accommodation at Royal Holloway is on campus (with two halls located about a mile away connected by a free shuttle bus to and from campus).

Your son or daughter can choose between self-catered or catered-pay-as-you-go halls| , which offer 50 per cent off food purchased on campus.

Which hall?

Students apply for accommodation online  and should make sure they apply by the deadline to be assured a place in halls.

Support

We have a dedicated team of wardens and residential support assistants whose job is to look after the welfare| of all students in halls. Wardens are members of full-time staff working in academic or administrative roles at Royal Holloway, who also live in the hall.

Their primary role is to look after the welfare of the students, but they also organise a range of social events and oversee disciplinary procedures.

Private sector housing

Student Accommodation supports students in finding private sector accommodation. Most students move into shared private sector accommodation in their second year, after spending their first year in halls.

Private housing lists are displayed on HouseSearch|, which is an online directory of housing and lodgings available to students. The service is available free of charge to students and has a number of features allowing them to search available properties and shortlist them for viewing.
