Fees & funding for undergraduate students

Royal Holloway charges an annual fee for all undergraduate courses. This fee will vary depending on whether you are a resident in the UK or Europe, or whether you are applying from outside the European Union.

The information included on the fees and funding pages should provide you with a better understanding of the costs associated with studying for an undergraduate degree, and will give you further information on the loans, scholarships and bursaries that can help you with these costs.

Once you arrive at Royal Holloway, our aim is to ensure your time here is as stress free as possible when it comes to your finances. The dedicated Student Finance and Funding Office provides a range of services and advice on areas such as budgeting, debt management and hardship funds, to make sure that money worries don't get in the way of your study.

Changes to tuition fees and financial support for 2012 entry

Under the agreement agreed with the Office for Fair Access (OFFA) Royal Holloway will charge a maximum tuition fee of £9,000 to all Home/EU students on full-time undergraduate degrees in 2012-13, and we will increase our investment in access measures.

Access measures will support our students from low income homes and cover a broad range of activities including outreach activities to raise aspirations and attainment, financial support such as fee waivers, help with the cost of campus residential accommodation, bursaries and scholarships|, hardship support and measures to improve retention. We are committed to ensuring that high achieving students will be able to study for an undergraduate degree at Royal Holloway irrespective of their financial background.

No Home/EU student will have to pay their tuition fee up front or whilst studying at Royal Holloway.  Students will be able to take out a government student loan for tuition, and defer payment until after they have graduated and are earning a minimum salary (currently £21,000 per year). Read more on the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills website. |

Current continuing undergraduates will not be affected by these changes. They will be subject to the same fee (with increases for inflation) and support package as that in place when they started their courses.
