Religions and International Politics Lecture

Professor of International Relations in the Centre for the Study of Human Rights at the LSE, Fred Halliday, will give a lecture on Religions and International Politics in the 21st-century at Royal Holloway, University of London.

Professor Halliday studied at Queen's College, Oxford and the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. A specialist on Middle Eastern affairs, with particular reference to Iran, Halliday speaks Arabic and Persian. He is an expert in international relations theory and founding Director of the Centre for the Study of Human Rights at LSE. He is a prolific author on numerous subjects including the Middle East and a well respected and authoritative voice on International Terrorism.

He is an editorial associate of the Middle East Research and Information Project and a regular on ABC, BBC and CBC radio and TV broadcasts. Professor Halliday serves as an advisor on Middle Eastern, Central Asian and Eastern European matters.

The lecture will take place on Monday 23 January at 5.30pm. It will be held in the Main Lecture Theatre, Founder's Building and will be followed by a reception in the Picture Gallery.
